More details:
She created a 10 feet long ceramic installation for the Bronx Museum called Mom which represents a multitasking mother of a young baby who looks like a mythological creature.
This is a very impressive installation made of 50 pieces nailed to the wall.
Those mothers have been thought of as portals (hence the size); some sort of life and death guardians, like the figures you would find in front of antic temples.
Her fingerprints are also all over the piece since it’s her feeling as a mother that you are constantly being touched by your kids.
She is currently working on another mother that will be twice as big and will be shown at Asya Geisberg Gallery in NYC this year.
She also made some smaller ceramics portraits of what she calls ‘worried mothers’, inspired by Pompei faces as much as by her friends who are sending her selfies of them as they really are, not as they want to be seen.
Finally she made some two-faceted vases that I also really like, especially the ones with figurative elements connected to the motherhood theme.
Did you see this biological clock vase? :)
